Prevent dogs from being a target of theft by capping their sale price
Bring in a legal limit on the amount (£) a dog or other domestic animals can be bought/sold for.
Recently there has been a surge in dog thefts, causing extreme distress to both owners and dogs. Capping the price of sale would hopefully make them less of a target, and at the same time, less tempting to over breed.
Yes, breeders may lose out on their increased income, but it’s now coming at too high of a price; in terms of emotional toll.
It’s also all too tempting to over breed a female dog for more pups.
The prices have soared in the past few years, bringing them back down is now crucial.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand you want to limit the price that puppies are sold for, however this is a private matter between the breeder and the buyer. You could start a petition calling for increased regulation of the sale of puppies if that is something you'd like to happen.
