Petition Action

Stop MPs from holding shares in all companies during ministerial service.

Petition Details

Functioning MPs should be disallowed the right to hold shares or operate on behalf of any private or public sector company that generates direct or indirect capital alongside their primary salary, especially when business has been awarded to that company through any public sector framework.

Additional Information

The right to generate additional income through investment and/or control in any private and public sector company that may or may not benefit from public sector framework awarded work, increases the chance of oppurtunism within the Govement.

The public expects their elected MP to operate on their behalf purely to represent the voice of the people, and commercial gain on top of a £80k salary can only operate to detract members of Parliament from their ministerial duties.
