Petition Action

Ban "high-density" Developments in the UK

Additional Information

Ban the high-density developments in the UK
where houses are built as tight as possible with almost
no gardens and no allocated parking spaces which
forces residents to park on the road.

Stipulate that all new developments shall meet
the following criteria:
- every household must have at least 2 off-road
parking spaces allocated to it
- bike shed or other storage for bicycles provided
- no parking spaces allocated on the road
- set minimum size of garden because in many
new developemtns gardens are so small that
clothes airer will not fit without hitting both fences!

Reasons:
- on-road parking poses higher risk of accidents
[especially children going from behind parked
cars to road which can cause lethal accident]
- difficult access to emergency vehicles
- rush-hours congestion
- accomodation which is priced very high anyway
should have minimum acceptable standard!
