Petition Action

Install traffic calming measures, sufficient road markings and signage for local school and safety of pedestrians

Additional Information

Arley Road, Appleton Thorn, Warrington.
Appleton Thorn primary school is at full capacity. This has increased the traffic on the road significantly.
Arley Road is used by local businesses a haulage firm and by many as a run through to Northwich, Antrobus and Arley.
Speed of traffic regularly exceeds 30mph. Witness accounts motorists exceed 50mph.
No road markings for school this is compromising childs, parents, teachers and all pedestrians safety.
Insufficient signage to warn drivers to slow down near the school.
Actions required by the Government:-
1. 20mph near the school
2. Traffic calming/management measures required to reduce speed
3. Yellow school road markings
4. Clean signs to indicate to motorists there is a school
5. Pedestrian crossing
