Introduce the 50+1 model of fan ownership in English football
The attempt by six Premier League football clubs to create a "European Super League" demonstrates how that the current model of English football club ownership is broken. The owners of these clubs are more interested in short-term profit than fair competition or the good of football generally.
Whilst the English clubs have abandoned this project, it highlights the need for change. The current "cash is king" culture is not sustainable.
We demand that the Government legislates to protect these community assets from predatory owners and introduces the 50+1 ownership model used in Germany.
Further information about the 50+1 fan ownership model used in Germany is available here: https://www.bundesliga.com/en/news/Bundesliga/german-soccer-rules-50-1-fifty-plus-one-explained-466583.jsp
