This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

While schools can give students detention during lunchtime, the Government's guidance on behaviour and discipline in schools makes it clear that they are required to allow reasonable time for pupils to eat, drink and use the toilet: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/488034/Behaviour_and_Discipline_in_Schools_-_A_guide_for_headteachers_and_School_Staff.pdf
