The [missing] human right to be safe from harm online

Petition Details

The Human Rights Act transposes the articles of the European Convention of Human Rights into UK law. I want the Government to work internationally to create a new universal human right. With this twenty-first century right the Government will empower society to construct digital protection measures.

Additional Information

The ‘Online Safety Bill’ will ‘give effect to the new regulatory framework for online harms’. In my opinion, this measure does not fully address the ability for a person to be harmed or harm online. Nor maintain protection throughout the digital world’s rapid evolution in the decades to come.

This new Human Right will advance the ethical responsibility of all those involved in current and future technology developments.
