Have designated smoking areas in pub gardens and ban smoking at tables
A risk factor for triggering asthma is inhaled substances provoking irritation to the airways. Due to this sitting in a beer garden where smoking is common is dangerous for asthmatic people. Therefore by having a separate area for smoking it would mean the beer garden is a safer space.
The UK has one of the worst asthma death rates in Europe, with the rate of people dying from an asthma attack increasing by more than 20% in five years.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about whether to have a designated smoking area is a matter for individual hospitality venues, not the Government or House of Commons.
