Petition Action

Ban the sale and use of prong/spike collars in dogs in the UK

Petition Details

To ban the sale and use of prong collars.
Physically punishing dogs is not only abusive and inhumane, it does not get the desired results. Sadly dog wearing these simply experience pain and fear.

Additional Information

Covid-19 caused an explosion in puppy prices, purchasing and unscrupulous breeding. Many behaviour issues have resulted from lockdown, has further exacerbated the issue due to lack of socialisation.
The veterinary profession has seen a rise in dogs wearing prong collars . These look harmless from a distance but if the dogs pulls on the lead they are spiked in the neck. This is both physically painful and emotionally damaging. A large number of trainers are actively recommending their use.
