Petition Action

Prioritise pregnant women in their third trimester for Covid-19 vaccination

Petition Details

Pregnant women in their third trimester should be offered vaccination before Covid restrictions lift, ideally by May 17th but otherwise June 21st.

Additional Information

Data suggests that pregnant women are at a higher risk of severe illness in their third trimester or if they have recently given birth.

Pregnant women and new mothers could keep up their own levels of social distancing, hygiene and wearing of face masks beyond June 21st, but this is impractical when trying to give birth in hospital!

Many NHS workers have still not been vaccinated, and measures to prevent NHS workers with Covid-19 from being on duty will never be perfect. Pregnant women and new mothers need to be protected.
