Require schools teach about contributions of South Asian and Black people in WW1

Petition Details

We would like the Government to make it compulsory as part of the national curriculum to teach about the South Asian & Black people who fought for Britain during the war.

Additional Information

According to the statistics, around 2 million people from the South Asian region served and laid down the lives for Britain during the first world war.

However, the role of these people and how this served Britain is often not reported and under-represented in the education syllabus. It would help many of the British Asian communities if they could help learn and identify directly about how their ancestors help shape modern Britain.
