Allow probate to continue if a will was produced but unexecuted due to covid 19
Change the law to allow proper execution of wills that were produced during the covid 19 pandemic and were unable to be executed due to lockdown rules including care home closure. Protect families that are in the situation of a loved one dying and being intestate due to covid 19
Through no fault of their own families are left with their loved ones final wishes deemed intestate due to situations beyond their control associated with the covid 19 pandemic. We need the government to look at the laws between March 2020 and March 2021 to help these families that were unable to assist their loved ones execute their final wishes due to lockdown laws in place during the pandemic.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about probate for people who have produced a will but it is not valid, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
Determining whether a will is valid is a matter for the probate service and the courts, not the Government or House of Commons.
We could accept a petition calling to changes for how probate works for individuals who have produced a will but it is not currently valid in law, but it would need to be clear how you want this process to work.
