Petition Action

Introduce legal measures to prevent the sale of event tickets above face value

Petition Details

Introduce legal measures and/ or policies that will prevent third parties from selling tickets to live events for a higher price than the face value of the ticket

Additional Information

Ticket scalping now often involves advanced technology to gain unfair advantage over average consumers, making it increasingly difficult for genuine fans to obtain tickets at face value, forcing them to pay higher prices - often from unreliable sources. This exploitation of supply & demand is no longer a case of scalpers partaking in capitalism, and is instead about unfair technological advantages that leech profits from event hosts and drastically inflated amounts of money from desperate fans.
