Bring back Genocide Act 1969
This act was repealed without public consultation and no established reason for repealing.
The government should bring this back until a discussion is had in parliament for the reasoning behind stripping away such protections

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you want to see changes to existing laws on genocide, but we're not sure exactly what changes you'd like the Government or Parliament to make.
The Genocide Act 1969 was repealed by the International Criminal Court Act 2001, which introduced new offences related to genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. The explantory Notes to International Criminal Court Act 2001 explained that the jurisdiction provided for in the Genocide Act 1969 was more limited than is provided for in the ICC Act.
If you want the Government to change laws relating to genocide, you could start a new petition explaining clearly what changes you would like the Government or Parliament to make.
