Prevent calorie labelling in out-of-home sectors
Re-think the mandatory labelling of calories in the out-of-home sector. Consider the effects of this labelling and who it would be damaging to.
Considering that between 1.25 and 3.4 million people in the UK suffer from an eating disorder, labelling the caloric content of food in out-of-home sectors would be extremely damaging.
This labelling would increase the cases of eating disorders, and perpetuate existing ones. Thus costing the NHS in the long run due to an increase in eating disorder related referrals.
