Do not pass the Online Safety Bill
Do not pass the Online Safety Bill, specifically do not fine companies for allowing 'misinformaton / disinformation' or 'hate speech' on their platforms as these categories are widely open to interpretation and will result in mass censorship.
The Online Safety Bill is blatantly an attempt to enact greater internet censorship than already exists. Especially problematic is the call to censor 'misinformation / disinformation' and 'hate speech' where both categories are widely open to interpretation and therefore open the door to mass censorship of any topic the government does not like.
The best way for a society to be properly informed and free from prejudice is to have free and open discussion on all topics, not censorship.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure whether you want the Government not to introduce the Online Safety Bill at all, or to remove the parts of the bill that would create new regulation for hate speech and disinformation.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
