Stop the plan to include calorie counts on menus
There are 1.25 million people in the UK who suffer with eating disorders - to include calorie counts on menus would have a detrimental effect on these people’s mental & physical health. Going out for food is meant to be a pleasurable experience, not determined by the amount of calories you consume.
By including calorie counts on menus will immensely increase anxiety around eating out for those who suffer with eating disorders. Calories are not a constructive way to determine the nutritional value of food- it will only cause triggers & disordered behaviours. Thus, leading to the extreme detriment of mental and physical health.
