Give people living in poverty protected status under the Equality Act 2014
Recovering from the financial impact of the coronavirus, with many people in the UK losing their jobs and homes, forced to live in inadequate temporary accommodation or at worst rough sleeping. The Government needs to make living in poverty a protected characteristic under the Equality Act
Rough sleepers risk being the victims of violence, abuse or anti-social behaviour.
People have a right to an adequate standard of living, the right to education.
Discrimination 'povertyism' against people on the grounds of their poverty is common but relatively unacknowledged feature in the UK.
That people in poverty are inferior or of lesser value. the 'deserving' and 'undeserving' poor
Refused are charged more for services, insurance or credit, because of their postal address JRF 2008
