Introduce Rent Cap in London
I've been living in London for the past 2 years and just like others, I work, have a full-time job and try to live a normal life. Due to the rising rent in London and landlords taking advantage of tenants, me and 3 million young people in London are struggling to afford it. We need a rent cap.
The average salary in London (not taken from Google) is £22,000 annually. The average cost to rent a 1-bedroom flat and live comfortably in the outskirts of London is £1500 a month = £18,000 with no bills. We want to be able to afford living in London like every other normal resident.
The following needs to be done:
Cap rent to maximum of £800
New York City has done it, Los Angeles has done it, Austin has done it, why London can't?
