Petition Action

Increase support for the English Language Teaching sector

Petition Details

Provide ongoing support for ELT, including extended furlough for staff until spring or summer 2022 if necessary.
Extend the business rates holiday and grants, already offered to the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors, to specifically include the ELT sector.

Additional Information

The ELT sector creates jobs, opportunities and creates countless positive economic ripples in every part of the UK. We need MPs to help us weather this storm, so that we can continue to put the UK on the global stage and be ready to accommodate the huge pent up demand from visitors. The sector relies on an international market. We cannot replace our customers with domestic ones. We face a standstill until spring/summer 2022 if there is no meaningful recovery this summer, which looks unlikely.
