Make published Carbon Footprint a key factor prior to any bilateral trade deals.
Explicitly and transparently publish carbon footprint comparisons of all bilateral trade deals. Citizens need to be made aware of how serious the Government is in meeting global emissions/temperature reduction targets. UK Parliamentarians to debate it and British public made aware of the outcome.
Public knowledge and debate about carbon footprints can help save our planet together. The role of Australian beef in the deal currently under review is an example of no apparent consideration of this being done. UK farmers will be undercut at a high cost - global warming! The carbon footprint of beef production anywhere is extremely high but transporting meat from long distance sources creates a much higher carbon footprint and is extremely detrimental to global warming and climate change.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about the carbon footprint of trade partners, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Your petition calls for "carbon footprint comparisons of all bilateral trade deals", but it's not clear what you want these publications to set out, or what, if any, other actions you want the Government to take to make this a "key factor".
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
