Impose a cap on care home fees.
Impose a cap on care home fees, either a monetary amount or a percentage of your home if this is all you have.
An overhaul of Continuing Healthcare Funding to make this more accessible to all without going through third parties who charge extortionate fees.
In April 2011, there was a proposal to cap care home fees to a maximum of £72,000.00. The conservative government under David Cameron pledged this would be introduced by April 2020. This never received a first reading in parliament.
The government need to do this to ensure the elderly generation, some of whom have served this country, do not lose everything they have managed to accumulate when they are no longer able to take care of themselves independently.
