Extend maternity dental exemptions (new)
Women's teeth and oral issues suffer during pregnancy and beyond. Due to covid the full benefit or, in most cases, no benefit has been accessed due to the pandemic and dental practices have stopped taking on patients and waiting lists are lengthy. Maternity exemptions need extending accordingly.
The gov previously denied extending maternity exemption certificates for dental care stating that dentists were open during lockdown. However dentists have stopped taking on new patients and those that are already a patient are finding waiting lists are long for treatment.Women are not recieving the benefit they are entitled to and either missing out due to waiting for appointments and their exemption expiring or not able to access any dental treatment throughout the whole of the pandemic at all.
