Petition Action

Ask Mayor Sadiq Khan and The Home Office to reopen Richmond's Police Station

Petition Details

On November 1st 2017 Khan announced the closure of the station. Richmond Council said the closure “must have a local benefit”. "Police accessibility here in the borough should be improved on the ground". Cressida Dick, said "police most effective on the streets!" ONLY 3 police officers in my ward!

Additional Information

In the borough of Richmond since the station closure until April 21 - 7 Gun crimes/personal robberies, 7 Homicides, 144 Knife crimes with injuries and 1464 Drug offences - Only 3 officers in North Richmond ward and 4 in South Richmond ward. There is huge demand amongst the local community for our local police station to be reinstated. Please can Sadiq Khan and/or the Home Office find funds. Plus extra police on patrol around the crime areas. Our neighbourhood needs to be safe and secure.
