Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Should it be restructured
I am calling on the government to look at restructuring the “Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food” into independent departments each having a minister responsible just for that industry.
Because i believe having smaller independent departments would be more efficient and ministers could dedicate 100% of there time in just that area. Take fishing as an example the minister should have the power to set catch quota's based on scientific data, who can catch the fish and where, make it more sustainable and environmental friendly,
oversee the future of fishing including research in new method's of catching sustainable fish.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food ceased to exist in 2001, when MAFF was merged with the Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions and other Government functions to form the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
