Petition Action

Clamp down on modern day slavery

Petition Details

Request police forces across the United Kingdom to clamp down on illegal businesses that are possibly using Modern Day Slavery to help their business, treating their workers in ways no one needs to be treated and not giving them basic human rights.

Additional Information

Modern day slavery still exists and it is shadowed over by the media, acting as if slavery is a thing from the past. Slavery still happens, slavery still exists.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Operational decisions are a matter for specific police forces.

You could start a new petition calling for increased funding to tackle modern slavery, or tougher sentences, if that's what you'd like to see happen.
