Increase Funding for Existing Youth Clubs and Open New Youth Clubs across London
To open up the conversation of directing more funding to youth services. To further understand the link between the closure of youth services and youth violence in London. To also research the affects of gentrification on London’s youth.
Research suggests that more than 40 per cent of London’s youth clubs could close within a year due to a lack of money and funding.
The pandemic has affected young people in various ways including their education, their mental health, and their economic standing. These all have an impact and exacerbate youth violence.
“We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.”

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.
Decisions about youth clubs in London are a matter for the London Assembly and individual London councils, not the Government or House of Commons.
As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.
The London Assembly has its own petitions process. You can find out more about how to petition the London Assembly here: www.london.gov.uk/about-us/london-assembly/petitions
