Acknowledge that the UK needs genuinely affordable homes for local people to buy
The current definition of an affordable home is not linked to earnings. We need genuinely affordable homes which anybody working full time on minimum wage can afford to buy with ease. (This could be achieved with modular technology and rent-to-own schemes)
Already house prices have become disproportionate to earnings. In many parts of the country an ‘average’ house price is more than ten times that of an ‘average’ salary.
Wages have risen by 43% in the last forty years, yet house prices have risen by an incredible 1010%.
We need a new solution which serves the man on the street and not just the elite.
Bringing the global tiny home movement to the UK with a transparent rent-to-own model would make home ownership accessible to everyone.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you'd like more affordable homes, but we're not sure what action you'd like the Government or Parliament to take.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
