Change legislation to give councils a choice to meet online or face to face.
Local government councils have been instructed by government to return to face to face meetings. When councils were meeting on zoom and other online platforms many more people joined the meetings. Please can the legislation be changed to give councils a choice to meet either online or face to face.
During the pandemic when councils had to meet online, many more people viewed and joined in the local meeting Typically face to facc meeting only have a few residents in attendance. However, when meeting were online 50+ people would attend. So changing the legislation would enable many more of the public to get involved in local democracy and local politics. And to give better access to local decisions making processes.
