Fund and require defibrillators in all public places
The Government should fund and require the placement and maintenance of defibrillators in all public places. This should include schools, work places, supermarkets, gyms, shopping centres, transport stations, swimming pools, and stadiums.
Recent events have demonstrated the importance of close proximity of a defibrillator. For every minute that defibrillation is delayed, survival decreases by 7 percent to 10 percent. If it is delayed by more than 10 minutes, the chance of survival in adults is less than 5 percent. Let's make sure distance is not the reason for someone losing their life.
