Make £2 notes
The Bank of England will introduce plastic bank notes by 2016. This opportunity should be taken to also introduce £2 notes and possibly phase out £2 coins. The plastic notes will last longer and will solve the durability problem, while making wallets and purses lighter.
The U.S. has the $1 bill and many countries make use of small denomination notes for convenience. We should benefit from this too.
