Stop School Nursing cuts. Immediate threat to our children's health & wellbeing.
Council budgets cuts present a significant risk to children, young people and their families. Cuts include no school nurse service for secondary school aged children. School nurse value is recognised in the protection of children, particularly the support of emotional wellbeing for children over 11.
School nursing is a team of NHS qualified nurses who are committed to delivering care to children from 5-19 - recognised in the protection of children, knowledge of child development and significantly the promotion and support of emotional health & wellbeing. Further cuts to the service would mean no school nurse support for children over the age of 11 which will have a devastating impact on the fractured society of our children’ s wellbeing particularly their emotional wellbeing post COVID.
