Petition Action

Do not lift restrictions until all have been offered 2 doses.

Petition Details

Any travel rules and restrictions should continue to apply to all and be science led. When the time comes to remove restrictions it should apply to all age groups rather than effectively opening up restrictions for the older generations.

Additional Information

To relax restrictions at this stage only for those that are double vaccinated is age discrimination and would be difficult to argue in a court. The vast majority of those that are still not double vaccinated still are so because of their age, not choice. Once the whole population has been vaccinated fully it would make sense to lift restrictions for those people, but there are still questions over how low the age will go for vaccinating, does that mean a family can no longer go on holiday together. All along the line has been ‘we are all in this together’ and lifting restriction for some who are the beneficiaries of everyone’s sacrifice is just wrong.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about how Covid-19 restrictions will be eased, but it's not clear if you want all restrictions, or just restrictions relating to travel, to remain in place until everyone has been offered both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine. It's also not clear if you want this to apply to everyone, or just age groups for whom Covid-19 vaccines have been authorised by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
