Make the £20 UC uplift permanent
The £20 UC uplift should be made permanent for all families receiving UC and extended to those on other benefits.
Universal credit had been frozen for several years before the £20 uplift was introduced, in those years and more recently the cost of living has increased exponentially. The £20 uplift helps to cover this cost of living increase, without it many people have to chose between heating and eating. This uplift should be made permanent to avoid extreme poverty for many people.
