Make having a barbecue on a balcony a criminal offence
To legislate against the use of barbecues on balconies. Lighting any source of flame for cooking on a balcony or roof garden is dangerous, inconsiderate and anti-social; whilst it is also a potential source of anxiety and disturbance for neighbours.
People who choose to light barbecues on balconies have no regard for the safety of others within the buildings they share. It is a particularly anti-social activity, and one that can easily cost lives and money when things go wrong. People who behave in this way may not respond well to polite requests from neighbours to desist, so it should be upon the government to facilitate behavioural change and promote education in this area, through a national campaign and enforcement.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about people using barbecues on balconies, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The title of your petition calls for this to be made a criminal offence, but your petition ends by referring to a national campaign and enforcement.
The Government could make having a barbecue on a balcony a criminal offence, and fund a public awareness campaign about this, but enforcement would be a matter for individual police forces.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
