Petition Details

There are many people who have temporary disability. For them, the problems caused by their disability is no different from those who have permanent conditions. These problems are often exacerbated by their inability to make use of parking for the disabled.

Additional Information

The introduction of a Temporary Blue Badge scheme would help those with temporary disability to improve their quality of life during the period of their reduced ability.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Blue Badges are automatically awarded to people if they receive certain rates of particular benefits, but are not normally awarded because people have a specific condition. Local councils, not the Government or House of Commons, are responsible for deciding who is eligible for a blue badge.

You could start a petition calling for the Government to review the criteria for blue badges, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
