Authorise school absence for family holidays
Allow parents to remove their children in term times for family holidays for a reasonable amount of time I.e 1 week
For children to experience culture that they won’t learn in a classroom.
To allow family holidays that otherwise might not be afforded in school holiday times.
To allow families to spend time together.
To allow parents a choice on how and when to spend a significant and enjoyable and important bonding time with their child(ren).
Previous generations had holiday authorised absences and this has not affected them later in life.
