Make Virginity testing illegal in the UK.
Find out more about this practice that has recently been highlighted in the news. Find out how many young girls/ women are subjected to it. Make it illegal for any ‘doctors’ or likewise to accept money to perform such tests. Class such actions as rape when the ‘patient’ has not given consent.
This is a practise that goes against gender equality. Woman in this country are suffering this invasive, unnecessary intervention which is not motivated to improve health, so it should not be legal. Parents or family members should not be able to demand or choose that their daughters should be penetrated in this way for any reason. This practise is inhuman and needs to be stopped and treated as rape. It’s time everyone regardless of religion, or culture respected women, their bodies and choices.
