Stop construction of 5G masts in residential and environmentally sensitive areas
Stop Permitted Development, which allows phone companies to erect 5G or future phone masts, in residential / environmentally sensitive areas. Phone companies should replace and share existing masts on used brownfield sites rather than new sites. Councils and residents should always be consulted.
A mobile company recently applied to construct a 20m 5G mast on a residential green space impacting the local amenity. This green space includes several mature ash and lime trees, as well as protected wildlife.
Residents raised 191 objections, plus an objection from the Council Tree Officer, resulting in the application being rejected.
However, under the new Planning Bill, neither the council nor the residents will be allowed to raise objections to developments of this kind.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure if you want a ban on 5G masts in residential and environmentally sensitive areas, or for people to have the right to block proposals.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
