Relook at the way business rates are calculated
The government needs to have a full review of the business rates. No matter where you are in England the same calculation are used. All good and well but there's some areas that are struggling to keep shops for example Middlesbrough. We have to pay the same as city's but without the footfall
The government needs to do this ASAP to keep businesses on the high Street otherwise more businesses will close down because rates cripple businesses. They need to make business rates based regional not a flat rate throughout England. These need to be done because since covid major businesses have closed there doors for good and business rates contribute massively towards there debt.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you'd like changes to business rates, but we're not sure how you'd like them to change.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
