Provide equal protection for historical & cultural leaders as we do for Statues
The proposed Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill provides stricter sentences (up to 10 years in prison) for those who damage statues on the grounds of them being "commemorative" and such attacks cause emotional harm to communities.
Britain is a diverse and multicultural society, and therefore all communities should have their historical and cultural leaders protected in the same way. Whether that be Jesus, The Prophet Muhammad, Moses, Raam, Guru Nanak, Buddha or any other figure.
We all commemorate our historical leaders and face emotional harm when 'hateful attacks' are launched against them.
We should all have equal protection on the grounds of emotional harm caused by such attacks, to protect peace and civil order.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill provides for increased sentences for damage to memorials. We're not sure how you'd like this to apply to non-physical figures.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
