Petition Action

Stop excluding laboratory dogs & other lab animals from the Animal Welfare Act.

Petition Details

The Govt. commits the Animal Welfare Act offence of 'unnecessary suffering' by sanctioning horrific experiments on dogs & other animals. The Govt. needs to mandate a public scientific hearing on animal testing, judged by independent experts from the relevant science fields, to stop this offence.

Additional Information

A recent exposé shows harrowing footage of the factory farming of laboratory dogs in the UK. Experiments on such dogs, & other animals, are today widely reported to be entirely failing the search for human treatments & cures: https://www.scarlettbeagle.org/science-campaign Current science from many fields proves conclusively that animal-based research & testing is not viable. This science hearing will support the Animal Welfare Act to protect laboratory dogs, all lab animals, & human patients.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure if you want the Government to change the law or to hold a hearing (and what this would do)

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
