Address and tackle the huge increase in LGBTQ+ hate crime.
Anti LGBTQ+ hate crime has almost trebled since 2015, it’s time for the government to finally do something about it. There’s no quick fix but the government have ignored this for far too long, something needs to be done.
Over the past 5 years hate crime has rocketed, on average there are over 50 incidents a day targeting LGBTQ+ people. Between 2015-16 there were 7,520 attacks, but between 2019-20 there were a shocking 18,375. Nothing has been done to address or tackle this issue, leaving our community more vulnerable than ever. Boris Johnson has failed to act on many of our issues, this can’t be ignored any longer. There have been too many horrific attacks recently and it’s only getting worse.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you'd like to see more action to tackle LGBT+ hate crime, but we're not sure what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
