Ask the Government not to "suspend" the Pension Triple Lock
This year, the government is due to increase the amount of state pension received by those eligible by 8%, but now rumours in the media are suggesting that this may be suspended.
The Pension Triple Lock was introduced in 2010 to ensure that the state pension increased with inflation or above inflation, and this year an 8% increase was planned, but it appears as though the government is planning to "suspend" this, although the have to elucidated so it is unclear what this means. If the Triple Lock is suspended, postponed or axed this year then this will undoubtedly affect pensioners standing of living, which will almost certainly have a deleterious impact on their health.
