Require all BBC Top Gear presenters to complete Bikeability Training 1,2,3
The government has been attempting to foster safer cycling with training for cyclists: http://bikeability.dft.gov.uk/
Sadly it would appear some UK motorists also require training.
Recently, a presenter of a publicly funded motoring program snapped a photo (while driving) of what he considered an anger-provoking cycling position: http://bit.ly/1ahC3Hn
As documented in Bikeability training:
"Where the road is narrow and two-way traffic would make it dangerous for the cyclist to be overtaken by a following vehicle they may choose to ride in the primary position." http://bit.ly/1dHKXig
The response from the cyclist involved confirms this was the case: http://bit.ly/1cSe3hi
We urge the government to work with the BBC to foster cycling safety by requiring Top Gear presenters to complete Bikeability Training Levels 1, 2, 3. Broadcasting while they did this might help foster increased road safety in cyclists and motorists.
