Petition Action

Hold politicians personally accountable for false/misleading information

Petition Details

Politicians should lead by example, since the beginning of brexit lies and falsehoods have been on the increase.
This has encouraged racism against migrants to increase, and emboldened nationalism this must stop

Additional Information

Publish details of politicians who during the brexit process were profiting through currency shorting against the pound.
Whilst holding discussion and votes that could either short or increase the value and betting accordingly, effectively committing insider trading.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. MPs are already required to declare their interests. If you'd like changes to the rules, you could start a petition setting out clearly what you'd like to be added
