Additional Information

As a key strategic ally to the UK, it is critical that this volatile situation is stabilised.

If the level of unrest seen in KwaZulu-Natal/Gauteng continues, the situation may become irrecoverable, significantly impacting the lives of millions of citizens.

The current unrest has the potential for lasting implications for the region and for the world - supplies are being looted and factories burned to the ground.

The SACUM-UK economic partnership agreement (EPA) is at risk, £10bn in trade.
