Spring - longer evenings sooner!
Currently clocks ‘go back’ in October and are readjusted in March. In November to February, early light is needed for safety - work and school.
In February the mornings become lighter naturally. If we re-adjust to BST in the last weekend of February instead of late March, it would have no impact upon the early morning issues yet would:
• Reclaim spring so that March becomes a time for growth releasing a feel good factor
• Lead to an immense boost for the economy as people find that they can go out to 7pm to shop and visit restaurants
• Cut crime as the built environment become a lighter, active place
• Make road travel safer and more frequent increasing fuel sales
• Save NHS funds as overweight and depressed individuals engage with physical activities
• Let families spend quality time through a range of activities.
Simplistic - but makes profound and irrefutable sense for 2015 onwards making Britain a brighter place!
