Take action now to prevent long covid, complications & deaths due to COVID-19
The UK government must take urgent action to prevent further excess deaths and the devastating complications of COVID-19 including long covid, by implementing independent and transparent evidence-based recommendations from scientific experts without alteration or political interference
All British citizens have an absolute right to life (Article 2, Human Rights Act). Imperial college modelling (2021-07-07, SAGE 93) states “we estimate that lifting restrictions
on 19 July in the context of Delta could lead to a significant third wave of hospitalisations and
deaths” if step 4 was implemented. More time will allow “alternative control strategies such as
boosters doses and vaccination of <18 years to be considered and implemented” (Imperial college
modelling SAGE 92)
