Petition Action

Support paying father's to their children.

Petition Details

Father's who pay for they children after a break up, get no support from the government. Even though they see their children on a regular basis.

Father's pay CMS and pay their own bills to live. Put a roof over their own children by continuing to pay their mortgage. Pay for clothes, food etc

Additional Information

Single mothers get benefits to support them, even though the paying father is willing to pay CMS.

If the government can't help the father with support on finances to raise his own children, then stop all single mothers getting benefits, if the father of their child is paying towards their children.

Its one sided and unfair the father struggles with finances.

A little support from the government for all the expenses the single father has to spend, needs looking at.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about existing arrangements for child maintenance and welfare support for families when parents have separated, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

Change the way child maintenance is worked out - base on income after deductions: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/582381

Calculate child maintenance based on actual child expenses: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/588390

Reform Calculations for Child Maintenance where the child stays with the NRP: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/581208

If you want the Government to take an action different to the above you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
